"I had a very bad experience at this hospital (Vanivilas Hospital). However, there are excellent doctors. But some of the security personnel in this hospital only help and show respect to patients after taking money, which is essentially a bribe. Moreover, even if you need a bed, they only help you if you give them a bribe. We also have to buy them tea and food (a very worst security team). We even have to pay a bribe to the staff who clean the newborn baby. They are earning more in bribes than their actual salary. There are many rats, dogs, and cats entering inside the hospital. No one is properly questioning or disciplining them. The Karnataka Government must take action against the security team in this hospital." The attenders and publics using gutkha and smoking hospital gate inside. Very bad experience.

I am writing this to warn others based on the experience we had at Victoria Hospital. If anyone is dealing with a medical emergency, please consider going to another government hospital instead of this one. My uncle has been suffering from kidney problems. Since he has a ration card, we took him there for treatment. For the past six months, he has been taking medicines from this hospital. Before starting treatment, they conducted multiple tests, including eye tests and body scans, which did not seem relevant to his kidney condition. Still, we followed all their instructions. Even after six months of treatment, his condition did not improve. In fact, it became worse. He started having severe breathing difficulties. Despite his condition, no staff member provided a wheelchair. The patient had to walk around to complete documentation and wait for a token before meeting the doctor. After all the waiting, the doctor prescribed the same medicines again and advised admission for two units of blood transfusion and removal of fluid from the stomach. We clearly asked whether we needed to arrange blood ourselves. The senior doctor assured us that once admitted, the hospital would arrange everything. However, after admission, we faced many problems. Different trainee doctors kept coming and asking the same questions repeatedly, as if they were still learning and unaware of the case details. We were informed that the doctor would visit by 7 PM, but he only came the next day. There was no proper communication or fixed timing. When it came to arranging blood, the blood bank staff suddenly informed us that a donor was required and that donation timing was already over. There was no clear communication from the doctors regarding this. Meanwhile, my uncle’s condition worsened. For two days, he was only given glucose and injections, and his hands became swollen due to continuous IV fluids. Seeing his deteriorating condition and the lack of proper care, we decided to discharge him. It was a very painful and disappointing experience. The hospital provides food and sleeping arrangements on time, but that is not enough when a patient’s life is at risk. Patients need proper treatment, attention, and responsibility from medical staff. Government hospitals are funded to serve people, especially those who cannot afford private care. It is heartbreaking to see such negligence and lack of accountability. I sincerely request the authorities to look into this matter seriously, as lives are being affected. This is a serious concern, and I hope no other family has to face what we went through.

Victoria Hospital is one of the oldest and famous government sector hospital that comes under BMCRI. BMCRI is the epicenter to cure every disease at a very minimal price. Here the service is very price friendly and the facilities here are very good if you know someone in the hospital itself means it's a cake walk for you. Yes, the services provided here are hard to get outside at this price which is the reason it is usually full of people. It is very crowded all the time. As you are seeking for the consultation: 1. Go straight to OPD ( Out Patient Department). The first thing you need to do is to get an OPD card/book without this card or book you cannot do anything in this hospital. There is a particular section at the right corner of the entrance where you can get registration book from OPD. To get Take the OPD card you need the patient Aadhar card with you alongside some cash to register and get a registration booklet. Here everything is free for checkup I was there for my mother hernia operation where I was directed to general surgeon and after that he told me to make a file again to make a file We need to come to ground floor of OPD and at begining there will be a counter for this here you need OPD card and aadhar and some cash to make the file after that for operation they will shift you to the next building i.e Trauma and emergency care For the free check up like blood xray etc etc you need to visit Room 2nd floor 201 A (Trauma Buliding) to make a Ayushman Bharat / arogya karnataka approval for this you need to have a ration card with aadhar and a photo of the patient with the doctor. Once you get the approval then everything will be free. After that you need to visit the doctor and list down the test needed and in entrance there will be a reception which is too crowded there you have to get the slips for the particular tests once everything is done 1.Blood Test : you need to bring the sample test tube From the first floor and the respective doctor will collect the sample and need to submit to the blood testing department it may take 1-2 hrs for the blood report 2. X Ray : It will be done in 1 St floor it's self where it will be too crowded and need to wait for 1-2 hrs for this report also 3. ECG : It will be done in the ground floor emergency sector itself The hospital here is very well maintained it like a private hospital very clean and very well specialised with modern equipment and good doctors Most of the doctors are students who will be treated in a good manner and very well behaved. But here the major draw backs are the cleaning department people and the nursing staff these peoples are hectic who keeps on asking money like anything minimum amount should be 100-500 they will do there work but we have to pay like a bribe to them they will demand for the money like they own the Hospital. If you give them money means they will treat you like God or else they will treat you like dog where they will show this grudge on patient while you are not there. The staff attitude is like they are doctor with double degree. There are the reason for the 3 star Every hospital is located one beside the other namely Minto Trauma and emergency care Vani villas etc But the Victoria hospital main building is one of the worst buildings compared to Trauma the beds and ward are old and their staff are the worst where their attitude and asking for money is one the main roles for them. During the discharge you need to again visit the 201 A ayushman/arogya karnataka approval with the previous approved documents and the file form the doctor and the photo of the patient with the doctor and the operated area photo(wound). Once the approval is done you're good to go with the discharge procedure. The one thing is for sure If you have good money and influence this the place where everything will happen smoothly and quickly

Had a very bad experience at this hospital. The staff in the Gynecology Department were extremely rude and unprofessional, often shouting over small things. The lady security guard keeps asking for money for no reason, even every 3rd person is asking for money which is unacceptable. There is also a big language barrier—staff do not understand Hindi or English and instead blame the patients, which is very disrespectful. The patient care is shocking. Women are kept on steel tables for days with stained linens and zero hygiene. Nurses do not check on patients unless we keep requesting again and again. The overall environment is careless and insensitive. This was my worst hospital visit, and I will never recommend this place. Patients deserve basic respect, proper care, and clean surroundings—none of which this hospital provides.I visited this hospital only because our doctor referred us, but I will never recommend it to anyone. I understand that people come here because government hospitals are affordable, but that does not justify such disrespectful behaviour, unhygienic conditions, and lack of care. Patients deserve dignity and proper treatment, regardless of where they go. This has been my worst experience in any hospital.

My sister (only 27 years old) died after surgery at Victory Hospital under the gastroenterology department. This happened due to wrong surgery and poor medical handling. Before surgery, we were not properly informed about the risks. After the operation, her condition became very serious, but the doctors did not take timely and responsible action. We felt there was negligence, lack of care, and poor decision-making. When complications increased, the hospital staff did not communicate clearly with our family. We trusted the doctors, but that trust was completely broken. Losing a young life like this is unacceptable. I strongly warn others to think carefully before choosing this hospital for major surgery. Our family is emotionally destroyed because of this incident. This review is written so that no other family has to suffer the same pain.
