The Passport Seva Kendra on Lalbagh road is an example for how not to run a public service. Though every applicant goes there by paying prescribed fees, we get a feeling that some free service is being offered . Counter A where your biometrics, photograph and signature are obtained is the only fastest activity. After that counters B & C are slowest as number of counters in B&C are relatively less compared counter A. In counters B & C the token numbers are not attended in sequence. Eg. Token 790 is called before token 760. What is the logic nobody understands. There is absolutely no place to sit and literally we have to stand for 60-90 minutes to get through counters B&C. There is one coffee day counter near waiting area which serves as an emergency food source during the long wait. When we upload most of the documents why does passport renewal take so much time ??

Passport seva Kendra _ Lalbagh Bangalore. This passport office had a smooth operation 10 years ago when I came for my passport. Now I came for renewal, and the service is the worst. Very slow operation. They give more tokens than they can manage, and the crowd is like Kempegowda Bus Station. My 12:45 PM appointment has not moved till 2:30 PM, and it looks like it will go up to 4 PM. Please don’t choose this office anymore. Worst experience.

PSK is located near lalbagh and is usually crowded. No parking is available however 2 wheeler parking is available on other side of road (basement). Outside waiting area is there but No display is available for current time slots hence same is managed manually. As token /entry counters are limited it is advisable to cross check docs before submission. Processing is done in 3 stages - A,B and C counters. A & B counters are sufficient and well managed by TCS. C Counter is by RPO authorities and final. Sitting area is good but not sufficient considering the usual crowd. Display system is efficient.

The Passport Seva Kendra at Lalbagh Main Road handles a huge crowd every day, but unfortunately the office space is far too small for the volume of applicants. Even though there is a sitting arrangement outside for parents and people who accompany applicants, it still feels congested and unorganised. For a government service meant for citizens, the overall experience feels disappointing and far from smooth. Process Flow: 1. First Counter: They check documents and tell you what photocopies you need, but the staff attitude is very careless and unhelpful. 2. Counter A: Photograph, document scanning, and thumb impression. You have to keep watching the screen for your token, and there is absolutely no proper communication from staff. 3. Counter B: Original documents are checked again. 4. Counter C: Final verification before exit. Even though the process looks simple on paper, the actual execution is slow and chaotic. It took 2 hours 40 minutes just to complete verification. The worst part is the behaviour and service mindset of the staff—they act as if they are doing a favour to the citizens instead of providing a basic service. For such an important government facility, the professionalism and customer handling are extremely poor. Parking: Parking is available nearby. For cars, you have to park at the designated parking lot after the signal on the left. Parking charges are ₹50 for up to 2 hours and ₹70 for 2–3 hours. Overall, this centre seriously needs better management, trained staff, and improved customer service. With such a high footfall, citizens expect efficiency and respect—not confusion, delay, and rude behaviour. Only the supporting system outside is manageable; everything inside needs improvement.

Today I visited the Passport Office on 28 November 2025 with a reporting time of 3:15 PM for my fresh passport application. Honestly, I was very worried after reading many negative reviews online, but my experience turned out to be completely opposite. Everything was handled very smoothly and professionally. The entire process took only around 30 minutes, and I was done and out of the office quickly without any hassle. Staff behaviour was good, the counters were well-organized, and the overall flow was very efficient. I am extremely satisfied with my experience. Now I am waiting for the police verification process.
