Beware it's fake. Actually it is a worst form of chilli rice that's it. Pls don't call it as Briyani. Chicken is not fresh and it is not cleaned properly. Totally waste outlet. I don't think it is real Ambur star biriyani outlet.

Lunch on (5/12/2025) Honestly, I was really shocked—in a good way! This restaurant is located inside the railway station, and usually you don’t expect much when it comes to taste or portion size because everyone is in a hurry. But this place completely broke that mindset. The taste is outstanding and the quantity is more than satisfying. Everything felt fresh, well-prepared, and served quickly without compromising on quality. A special mention to their mutton biryani—it is top notch! Perfectly cooked mutton, rich flavor, and absolutely delicious. It easily matches the quality of a good standalone restaurant outside the station. If you’re traveling and want a proper, satisfying meal instead of the usual station food, this place is a must-try. Totally worth it! 👍

You can expect same biriyani style which u get from other branches. Quantity is less Location is good

Its small place above a2b inside mgr central railway station, bought a chicken biryani as a takeaway for rs.262,one of the best biriyani..

Ambur Star Biriyani at Chennai Central Railway Station has been consistently good in the few times I've visited. The chicken biriyani is as flavorful as their other regular outlets and is of sufficient quantity for one person. It had three medium size chicken pieces and they were tender, well-cooked. They also give complimentary water, the mouth freshner provided tasted a bit old. As this is a busy station, the service can get a bit hectic but they try their best to serve and keep things clean. Some menu items like chicken 65 biryani was not available when I visited. The place is also congested with smaller tables and chairs very close. Regardless of all this, you will get a good Ambur Style biriyani in a busy station! Recommended particularly to those who like this style & flavor of biriyani. They also use disposable plates, which saves water!
