A beautiful slice of Bengal’s royal heritage Mahisadal Rajbari is a stunning and peaceful heritage spot that instantly transports you to another era. The architecture, the grand courtyard, and the quiet surroundings make it perfect for a short day trip. Though parts of the structure are ageing, the charm and history of the place remain intact. A great visit for anyone who enjoys history, old palaces, photography, or simply exploring lesser-known gems of Bengal. ✨📸🏰

A well known and underrated historical place outside busy streets of the city, the new 125yr old palace is well maintained and renovated for visitors. They have a museum which requires nominal entry fee and have a decent collection of the actual belongings used by the ancestral royal family. Many films were shot here which is a restricted area not open to public. But if you want to experience a heritage stay at the palace, you can contact and book through them, this option is available. Nearest station is Satish Samanta Halt, but I would recommend the journey by car for a whole day since trains are local trains here are very limited and tiresome journey. Picnic spots are available around the palace. If you have spare time, you can also visit Geonkhali and Triveni Sangam, an initiative by HKDA which offers a decent view of three rivers confluence.

The weekend retreat to Mahishadal Rajbari was a delightful experience. The property is well maintained and service staff was polite and cordial. Food was also very good in taste that includes local delicacy like goyna bori and til bata. The museum inside the palace, temples, and Tribeni are some of the attractions nearby that draws tourist and are well equipped with clean roads and food stalls. Overall, a great experience and is recommended for a getaway vacation to relax and find solace in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Mahishadal Rajbari is a beautiful heritage palace that reflects the royal history of the Garg family in West Bengal. The grand white façade, tall pillars, and sprawling lawn give it a classic old-era charm, making it a great spot for photography and history lovers. Inside, there is a small museum displaying antique furniture, vintage photographs, gramophones, weapons, and other royal artifacts. While the collection is interesting, some parts of the palace and museum feel less maintained than expected. The surrounding temple and peaceful environment add to the overall experience. It’s not a very crowded place, so you can explore calmly. Overall: Worth visiting for architecture and heritage vibes, especially if you enjoy offbeat historical places. ✨

It's a wonderful experience staying for the first time inside a Rajbari. Warm welcome with a welcome drink. The room we stayed was "Nandini", such a big room with furnitures, AC, TV, wardrobe. Excuisite food, more than enough for a person, just loved it.
