Yesterday I went to get the blood test at their Jawahar Nagar, Goregaon (West) location. Normally, when the blood is drawn, it is drawn directly in to vacutainer from the vein via a syringe. But to my surprise the phlebotomist drew the blood in syringe, and then with bare hands opened each vacutainer rubber cap, and emptied the blood from the syringe in three vacutainer and did not even bother to wear gloves. I asked her, don’t you directly draw the blood in vacutainer, and she says this is how we do it. They make you remove the shoes outside so the floors doesn’t get dirty, but does not care about the clinical hygiene practice. I don’t think I’ll ever visit this lab in future.
