This is what happens to the hostel with even the slightest rain. The water is about to enter the hostel. Water supply is irregular, both bathing and drinking. Sometimes you don't even get water can for two weeks in a row. The food is worst. Takali chutney (tomato chutney) tastes like inji chutney (ginger chutney). Once a week you get chicken that too in a limited quantity. The quality of food is really worse. It's very unhygienic. Food is not prepared in can water. It's prepared in municipality water which is chlorinated. Nothing is done about reducing the amount of ginger in food no matter how much you complain. There's no security in the hostel. The warden just locks the gate. There's no security guard. Men roam around in whole hostel. The owner with his friends drinks and conducts meetings in the office room of hostel which is in the same building. If you're on the ground floor, you'll many a times find your room locked from outside in the morning (very frequent). There are security cameras but what's the use of it when they don't even tell you who locked your door? And worst part is of you complain about anything to the owner he asks you to leave. It's a waste of money staying there. And it becomes costly when you have to eat food outside three times a day because the hostel food is inedible and there's no without food option. I had the worst experience staying here. Warden is also very rude and doesn't do any work. These people care about only money and nothing else.
Very budget friendly..a perfect south Indian meal ...with all varities of Tiffin...
Worst facilities. The food always had ginger. It's like the food is made up of ginger and no other ingredients. Cleaning is not done until we force them. Warden is worst. Owner is not ready to listen to anyone's problems. No security in the hostel. Cats inside the hostel. Dogs on the street. Rooms are small and not ventilated. Dustbin right in front of the hostel. Every now and then there's some function which makes us unable to sleep at night. To every problem you've in hostel there's only one solution with tr owner "You can vacate madam". There's partiality between people. No proper drinking water supply. People have to manage without water for weeks. Even bathing water is not regular and too much chlorinated. There are many incidences showing that the hostel is not fit for working and should be closed down soon.
Most unhygienic place one could be. The fees collected is as high as a completely well maintained hostel. But rats (huge) come in room. They run across the food before people eat, utensils are kept in literally worst corridors. I really wonder how they ignore and collect just the money. I never ate food there, wouldn't recommend anybody too. No room space , no bathroom space, if u bend u ll hit somewhere, no space to dry clothes. Worst place I get lived. I wouldn't recommend it for any girl, who would like a basic clean environment to live! For ex:. I have shared a pic where food/ utensils are kept for girls to eat.
It was a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with good ventilation and basic furnishings. Washrooms were hygienic and cleaned regularly. The warden and staff were approachable and strict enough to maintain discipline and security, which gave me peace of mind, especially being away from home. I appreciate the CCTV surveillance. Food was homely, though it could be more varied at times. The Wi-Fi was reliable for work/study. If you're looking for a secure, budget-friendly place with at home like feel, I would recommend Surya hostel Egmore. Great for students and working women alike.
