The biryani mutton pieces were not tender — they were quite tough to chew. Because of that, it wasn’t enjoyable and I couldn’t finish the meal properly. I hope the hotel improves the quality of the mutton and balances the spice level for a better experience.
Only go on peak times, we went 4:30pm and they served 6-7 hours cooked biryani. We have mutton biryani and the pieces were so hard and biryani was so dry and they don’t had Salan as well. Quantity was decent enough and taste was ok ok may be if they would have served the fresh cooked biryani. The sitting area is very basic but the service is very fast and it is self service. It is not worth put effort to visit here.
Raj Dum Biryani is a place that truly understands what a good dum biryani should taste like. From the moment you open the parcel or the plate is served, the aroma itself feels inviting and authentic. The biryani is rich, well-cooked, and clearly prepared with attention to traditional dum-style cooking. The rice quality is excellent — long grains, perfectly cooked, not mushy or dry. Each grain is coated with flavorful masala, and the balance of spices is just right. It’s neither too oily nor overly spicy, making it enjoyable even for people who prefer mild flavors. The chicken pieces are tender and juicy, cooked well and marinated properly so the flavor goes deep inside the meat. You don’t get that half-cooked or rubbery texture that many places serve. The portion size is also quite satisfying for the price. The masala flavor stands out — aromatic, slightly smoky, and rich, giving a proper dum biryani feel. The fried onions, herbs, and ghee aroma elevate the taste nicely. Every bite feels consistent till the end, which is rare these days. They also serve raita and salan, which complement the biryani well and help balance the spices. Packaging for takeaway is neat and secure, keeping the biryani warm and fresh. Overall, Raj Dum Biryani is a reliable and satisfying choice for anyone craving authentic dum biryani. It’s perfect for family meals, casual outings, or takeaway cravings. If you’re a true biryani lover, this place is definitely worth trying again and again. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Highly recommended for taste, portion, and value for money.
The biriyani quantity and quality are good 👍, but taste-wise it’s not up to the mark. Still, it’s not bad compared to local biriyani 🍛. They play old Kannada songs 🎶❤️, which I really loved — great vibe and pleasant atmosphere. There is plenty of parking space 🚗🅿️, so parking doesn’t affect the service. I also tried the chicken lollipop 🍗🔥 and it tasted good. Overall, a decent place for quantity, music, and parking, but biriyani taste can be improved.
Yesterday, while travelling from Hoskote to Kolar, a friend suggested we stop by Raj Dum Biryani on a Tuesday afternoon. The place was quite crowded, which usually sets good expectations, and there’s ample seating available. One thing I liked was their well-organised counter system — separate counters for billing, biryani, kebab, and mudde oota. You collect items based on what you’ve ordered, which actually helps manage the crowd and queues efficiently. It’s a self-service setup. Coming to the food, we ordered one mutton and one chicken biryani. The mutton biryani had too much fat and bones with very little meat, which was disappointing. The chicken pieces were quite hard, and overall the biryani tasted just average, not something exceptional. Price-wise, it’s reasonable for the quantity. There is enough parking space, the place is easy to spot after crossing the toll, and accessibility is good. Note: It’s best to consume the biryani within 4 hours of cooking. Overall, a decent stop if you’re passing by and not a early morning drive spot, but food quality could definitely be improved.
