Latest updare: The name of the road shop definitely to be changed as it is not relevant to its name nothing tradition only different types of parathas in the menu and people don't encourage such fast food. Please check urself on wat food is predominantly served. Update: Earlier it was in mylapore too but in adyar this specfic fast food yes it is fast food atmosphere is like that u would feel. Nothing much in the millet (comparatively less items) variety more of fast moving item lik chapati, naan, parata, paneer butter masala etc (Are these any way related to millets or in tamil food). NO BILL PROVIDED. It's in name of millets to attract customers first then turned into fast food purely money, pure business minded people. Also the owner is rude or definitely not customer friendly looking at customer who eat and order more items. The owner of this shop doesn't bother about health of customers I believe who provide food in aluminum foil and the food is placed hot in aluminum paper and u people know the side effects harmful it causes. Inspite of requesting to change to banana leaf he said it's high price. So overall if u want to experiences all mentioned above then pls do visit this fast food definitely it is not millet eater anymore. These are observation out of experience in person. Old: Ths place doesn't exist in both locations. Huh.
Don't be fooled by the name or their claim that they serve healthy food. Keeping aside the food itself, they use cheap polythene covers to pack hot food gravies, use plastic spoons for hot food items, use cheap paper cup with wax coating for steaming hot soups and use cheap polythene covers to cover the ladle (karandi) to pick and serve the hot food items. Even the dough to make chappathis are carried in cheap polythene covers. Each and every food item is readily made somewhere except for the tandoori items and rotis, so you will never know the hygiene factor. In one word, PATHETIC.
A very wholesome street food spot with extremely tasty millet based chaap and the best tandoori roti I’ve ever had in my life for a very affordable price. Worth checking out at the very least for sure. But for me, it’ll be a regular go-to when I need some food that will hit the spot without sending my stomach for a toss.
A long scheduled visit to Vayalum Vazhvum happened yesterday. Found this place on Madras street food - on YouTube. The place has a simple, no-fuss setup, but the food speaks volumes. Every dish made with fresh, flavourful, and rooted in traditional Tamil tastes. We tried the malai soya chaps, pepper chaps, ulundhu Kali, tandoori roti and kothamalli buttermilk. Everything was delicious and not overly oily. The best part? Their use of organic ingredients and native grains. It’s rare to find street food that’s both tasty and healthy! The staff was kind and patient while explaining the menu. Prices are very reasonable, and you leave feeling full without feeling heavy. Definitely a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy traditional food with a modern, healthy twist. Highly recommend for a quick, wholesome meal in Adyar. Opens only by 6pm and serves till 10pm. Closed on Sundays. The place is full, so be patient and wait for your turn.
