Beautiful n old building with good n decent food. I had Masala Dosa, vada & damroot. Damroot tasted good, other foods r decent n good. N u can c the vintage tabel n chairs, n even very old fans which are still working & feels good.
One of the oldest restaurants of Bangalore. Very authentic, spacious. Almost the entire menu is must try . Amazing masala dosa, coffee. Pulpy grape juice was decent.
I had sambar idli and it was piping hot. I followed it up with poori. I opted for the palya over sagu. It was not bad. The coffee was excellent, strong fresh and hot. The place is clean. I requested for gatti chutney but was politely refused stating that it is only included in parcels. The waiter was polite and efficient. The place is clean and bustling in the morning. For a century old establishment, I found it surprisingly clean and spruced up. Loved being a part of a legacy. Hope to try their noon meal some time.
To be honest, I visit this place mostly for the nostalgia. My father used to bring me here as a kid, and coming back as an adult always brings back great memories. The building is old but very well-maintained. While the dosa isn't necessarily 'exceptional'—it’s a standard, hygienic dosa you could find at most good spots—the sambar is the real standout. Made with pumpkin and toor dal, it’s unique and pairs perfectly with the idlis. Their afternoon lunch is also solid. Overall, a reliable spot for breakfast, lunch, or a South Indian evening snack.
