My visit to Shyam Sweets in Chawri Bazar was a whirlwind of flavors and chaos! Arriving at 8 AM, the eatery was already packed , just hungry souls standing with plates. Their Bedmi Poori, crisp and stuffed with spiced urad dal, paired perfectly with the hearty, bhandara-style aloo sabzi, though the rustic potato chunks divided opinions. The Nagori Halwa, aromatic and subtly sweet, was a winter delight, though slightly lukewarm. Their seasonal Matar Kachori (flaky, pea-stuffed) is a must-try in colder months with their authentic aloo sabzi. The vibe is pure Old Delhi—lively, loud, and unapologetically cramped. While the aloo sabzi occasionally lacked depth during rushes, the authenticity and fresh preparations shine. Only problem is the standing only dining as it gets really hard to stand and eat after walking down Chandi chowk/chawri bazar.

Captures the essence of the flavors of Old Delhi. Their Kachori is the best you will ever want.

Tried this popular place known for its matar kachori and bedmi puri. It is situated in the crowded old Delhi, so one has go and navigate through the always buzzing narrow lanes of purani Delhi. But once you reach, it is worth the visit. Crispy in texture, combined with spicy sabzi, it is good.

Tried this iconic old Delhi spot famous for its matar kachori and bedmi puri. Yes, you’ll have to make your way through the busy, narrow lanes of Purani Dilli—but the effort is totally worth it. The kachori is perfectly crispy, the bedmi puri is flavorful, and both pair beautifully with their spicy sabzi. A must-visit for anyone exploring authentic Delhi street food!
