Sweets are good in quality and tasteful.
Bengali sweet curd (Misti Doi) is amazing. It has perfect test and colour. Needs home delivery with any food delivery app.
On a very recent visit to Kolkata i stayed in Lake town and when I asked the locals for good sweet shop they suggested me 'Annapurna' and so I went there to give it a try and I was so surprised to taste their jol bhora shondesh which I have tasted for the first time. But I wanted sponge rosogolla and packed it for family and friends but they suggested that it'll not be fresh after 2 days so I took the risk and packed some rosogolla because coming back to Kolkata without having rosogolla is incomplete for me. Along with that we took two different type of shondesh. And more surprising thing is that the rosogolla was so fresh and spongey even after 2 days. I would definitely gonna visit Annapurna again. I will highly recommend others to visit and give themselves a try on their sweets. (You can get shondesh with less sweet also) Love from Guwahati, Assam. Also packaging was very good Thank you 🙏
Bought samosa from this very well know place for sweets & samosa in the evening.. and what we find is bunch of HAIR in it. Disgusting!!! Look carefully on the left side of front piece.
This is what Bengali sweets really are. This small sweet shop at Bangur represents the glory of Bengali sweet story. If you happen to be from outside Bengal do try their sandesh, soft and sweet sweetmeats. Excellent in quality and price. At Rs.10 per piece in 2021 they have excellent variety and quality better than many similar outlets. I loved their butterscotch sandesh.
