Good quality reports and accurate results

I am a doctor myself. I was bound to send one of my crucial labs to Unipath. My comment here is not about the credibility of the lab. I primarily want to comment about the very poor service that i faced. Starting from the blood draw, very unhygienic. I had to guide the phlebotomist through the procedure to maintain sterility. They did not give any sort of acknowledgement about my study or payment until i called them. There is no way we can track the result by ourselves. I had to call back and forth to keep asking about the status update. At one point they created a doubt in me if they even have the sample with them. Deadlines were missed to report my result. I had to remind them again to post the result after knowing it was completed. As a patient, it was very frustrating to follow up on tiny details with them and to keep waiting from an unreliable source about a crucial result. Having a way to track the progress and processing of the sample would probably make our patient lives easier instead of bearing with the nonresponsiveness of the agents or the counselling doctors.
