In Kolkata, you can get this type of luchi or kochuri at various places but this place has a old vibe and history. I think price is high and owner attitude towards convincing customer in taking minimum three kochuri does not make sense.

Tried the kachuri and rasogolla at Haridas Modak, Shyambazar; both were amazing! The kachuri was hot, crisp, and full of flavor, and the aloo tarkari was perfect with it. The rasogolla was soft, juicy, and not too sweet, just the way it should be. Classic old Kolkata taste and great service even when it’s crowded. Definitely worth a visit!

It’s an iconic sweet shop which is 250 years old. It is believed that Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Dev, Swamy Vivekananda and Netaji Subhash Chandra used to like their sweets and luchi. They still kept their tradition as is. They serve their food in banana leaf. The Kachori/ Luchi are both impressive and the Aloor Torkari is worth to die for.

Visiting this place after almost 20 years. I had come here as a 10 year old with my father a couple of times. The kachori, dal on a Banana leaf is food at its absolute simplicity. It's amazing that even after 200 plus years since its inception, this place still has a great demand amongst goodd lovers and travelers visiting the city.
